Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch

The Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch in southeastern Arizona is a living laboratory and ecological fieldstation dedicated to the preservation and study of southwestern grassland ecosystems. The 8,000-acre property is surrounded by another 5 million acres of semi-desert grassland and forested mountains. For more than 30 years, the Research Ranch has protected grassland ecosystems through conservation, research, and education—and has become a nationally known center for environmental education and research. Access is available through reservation and permit only.

Located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary encompasses 135 acres of striking landscapes and wildlife. Bounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and Santa Fe River Watershed land, the Center and Sanctuary provides a peaceful sanctuary for native plants, a variety of local wildlife, and our visitors.

Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center

The Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center in Phoenix is the Arizona headquarters of the Audubon Southwest office. The nature center rests in the heart of the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area, a 600-acre park in the Salt River corridor. Offering free admission for all, the Center hosts interactive exhibits, an interpretive loop trail, a variety of programs, and connections to the Rio Salado Restoration Habitat Area's sixteen miles of trails.
