In Memory: Charmay Allred

On April 8, 2020, we lost a beloved and generous environmental advocate and friend of Audubon New Mexico, Charmay Allred. Charmay loved life, loved her community, and enthusiastically volunteered at numerous nonprofit organizations throughout Santa Fe.

She helped organize Bid for the Birds, a silent auction benefit for Audubon that included local artists creating birdhouses that was extremely successful.

Charmay was also the driving force for Audubon’s Women in Conservation events, a seminar discussion which highlighted women in lead environmental roles. In fact, we plan to resurrect Women in Conservation as an annual event as we expand our public programming. Audubon New Mexico is grateful and honored we could call Charmay our friend. She was dedicated, passionate, and she will be deeply missed.
